MEET THE TRAINERS

Victory Shumbusho

Founder/Head Trainer

I am a licensed coach and the Founder and Head Trainer of Victorious Training program. My experience of playing includes Whitecaps Academy/Whitecaps Under 23. I also played on a Scholarship at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I was blessed to be drafted to The Canadian Premier League (Pacific FC) in 2021. I graduated with a Double Major in Psychology and Sociology.

Soccer has brought me tremendous joy and opportunities. It's allowed me to travel, play at different levels and, most importantly, grow as an individual.

My passion to start this program was fueled by the desire to give back to the community that has given me so much. I wanted to create a program that would provide opportunities for players of all levels to train at a high intensity. Our program aims to help guide young players on and off the pitch with holistic development in all areas of the game on their path to universities, semi-pro, and even professional levels.

Glory Shumbusho

Cofounder/Goalkeeping Head Trainer

I have been playing soccer since I can remember. I played soccer as a hobby and it led me to finishing school on a scholarship back in Uganda. I have played on different levels, from grassroots to premier levels. The more I played as a goalkeeper the more I understood the positives and negatives of goalkeeping positions. This led me to wanting support and guide younger goalkeepers to achieve their best performance.

Through playing and coaching experience, I met so many individuals who guided me and supported me to continue coaching and helping players. To further enhance my knowledge of coaching, I have participated in soccer associations that helped me. I am a currently a holder of: BC Soccer C- trained licence, UEFA C- football psychology, Scottish FA Goalkeeper Award 1.3.

My aim in coaching soccer, especially goalkeepers, is to help goalkeepers enjoy the position, learn how to control the mental aspects of the game, and all of the challenges that goalkeeping brings.

Benjamin Shumbusho

Cofounder/Head Trainer

I have played soccer since I was about 8 years old. My brothers introduced me to soccer when we arrived in Uganda. Ever since I started, I have dreamed of playing professionally, and when my family moved to Canada in 2013, I was given many opportunities to pursue it more seriously.

I progressed through the local levels to BCSPL, and when I was 18, I started playing with Abbotsford Men's Premier. During that time, I also started private coaching. My passion for coaching grew stronger, so I decided to focus on coaching. So far, Iā€™m in the process of getting my license. My goal with coaching is to empower players in all aspects to feel capable of achieving their dreams and goals.
